The 1st amendment is supposed to reserve our right to the freedom of religion, the press, and speech. And most of the time, it does. Except when it doesn't.

There are many different ways today where our 1st amendment rights are being infringed upon. I'd like to address 2 of them:

1. Freedom to Preach. Back in 1954, Lyndon Baines Johnson proposed an amendment to a bill which would cause any church to lose their tax-exempt status if the church actively endorsed a candidate or "directly or indirectly participated in a political campaign." This, of course, has mostly helped both Democrats and spineless RINOs. In other words, its a form of protection for worthless and pitiful candidates. It would be remarkable to see what would happen today in America if preachers had liberty to preach about politics again. (On a side note—if your church and your Pastor are too afraid to speak out about political issues because of fear of this amendment, its probably time to find another church!)

2. Freedom to Publish. Its pretty hard to believe, but the United States has actively been involved in banning and even burning books! Its pretty crazy, but its true. And do you know why? Because some Americans have dared to publish medical "advice" without approval from the government. In short, the Federal government has banned our freedom of speech. Sure, the federal government can finance the creation of art which depicts Jesus Christ in a jar of urine (yup, you paid for that) and classify it as "freedom of speech," but if you publish a cure for cancer, you will be fined, imprisoned, or have your published materials banned and possibly even burned. Welcome to the land of the free, comrade!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it. The government has to "protect" us from people hurting us, right? Yeah, its so stupid. First of all, it's not the government's job to protect us from information—whether it is true or false information. Its their job to protect us from attack or physical harm. If someone takes action upon information that brings them harm—its their own fault. Simple as that. Its time for people to be responsible for themselves again.

Nevermind the fact that the American Medical institution is the third largest cause of death in America behind heart disease and strokes. In other words, "approved" government medical processes and procedures are the #3 cause of death in America, but they are still banning natural and alternative processes from being published by professionals.

So here's the point—if we are going to be the land of the free again, we need to at least honor and respect our most basic freedoms—namely, the freedom of religion and the freedom of speech!

In other words—this has to stop. Period.
